Abstract :
A brief background to research and development of integrated harvesting systems is given. The changes in harvesting systems that are occurring, and the systems and concepts currently under development, are examined and operational harvesting systems are described. Methods of costing the harvesting of wood fuel from integrated harvesting operations and analysis of the results are reviewed. Environmental and silvicultural credits arising from the use of integrated harvesting systems are analysed.
