A mathematical model simulating the evaporation processes in building materials: Experimental checking through infrared thermography

A mathematical model describing the suction behaviour of some building materials is presented. Tests have been carried out on granite and limestone. An evaluation of the evaporation temperature has been carried out with the aid of infrared thermography. In addition, a theoretical approximation of these processes has been developed. Both theoretical and experimental results are discussed in order to evaluate the level of accuracy of a diagnosis of the hydraulic behaviour of materials.
