A case study of validation of an energy analysis program: MICRO-DOE2.1E

A case study is presented of a multiple-step validation undertaken to test the MICRO-DOE2.1E program, which includes the following: (i) response of the model to a given perturbation in the outdoor environment, (ii) comparison with another modelling tool, (iii) sensitivity analysis, and (iv) empirical validation using information from a large existing office building.
