Abstract :
Liquid phase diffusion coefficients of the binary systems carbon dioxide-oleic acid (cis-9-octadecenoic acid), carbon dioxidemethyl myristate (n-tetradecanoic acid methyl ester) and carbon dioxide-methyl palmitate (n-hexadecanoic acid methyl ester) were measured by a capillary technique at pressures between 70 and 130 bar and at 40, 50 and 60 °C. Diffusivities at infinite dilution and in the saturated liquid phase were obtained from counterdiffusion mass flow rates. The concentration dependence of the diffusion coefficient was determined from the effect of composition on the liquid phase viscosity. Numerical results are given in full detail.
