Multi-layer conductive heat transfer including an infinite medium

Conductive heat transfer through a finite layer into an infinite medium is calculated using the Laplace transformation. Two solutions are found, one valid for values of low values of time and one for high values of time, in comparison to the characteristic time scale of the finite layer. The series solutions are simplified so that only one term is required.
