Abstract :
In this work, a simple equation of state (EoS) has been used to predict
the density and other thermodynamic properties such as the isobaric expansion
coefficient, αP , the isothermal compressibility, κT , and the iInternal pressure,
Pi , of six glycol ethers including diethylene glycol monobutyl ether
(DEGBE), propylene glycol propyl ether (PGPE), diethylene glycol monomethyl
ether (DEGME), diethylene glycol monoethyl ether (DEGEE), triethylene
glycol dimethyl ether (TriEGDME), and tetraethylene glycol dimethyl
ether (TEGDME) at different temperatures and pressures. A comparison
with literature experimental data has been made. Additionally, statistical
parameters between experimental and calculated densities for the GMA EoS
and four other EoSs (Soave–Redlich–Kwong, Peng–Robinson, Soave–Redlich–
Kwong with volume translation, and Patel–Teja) indicate the superiority of
the GMA EoS.
