Abstract
In this work we studied tomato yellow mosaic geminivirus (ToYMV)
symptoms and DNA presence in several species of Solanaceae: Lycopersicon
cscutentum, Lycopersicon peruvianum. Lyciiim barbarum. Sicotiana
henthamiana. Solanum tyeopcrsicoides. Solanum quiioense and
Solanum rickii. After mechanical and insect transmission, in both greenhouse
and open field, we found plants of L icium harbarum and Soianum
tycopersicoides to be resistance to ToYMV. Polymerase chain reaction
analysis showed that the resistant plants did not contain viral DNA.
