Inventions: A Result of Risk-Taking, Diversity, and Holistic Thinking—An interview with Bernard S. Meyerson, IBM Fellow, Vice President, and Chief Technologist of IBMʹs System Technology Group
Abstract :
Yervant Zorian, vice president and chief scientist of Virage Logic and vice president of the IEEE Computer Society, recently interviewed IBMʹs Bernard S. Meyerson for IEEE Design & Test. Meyerson, a materials science pioneer, has made significant advancements in semiconductor research, notably silicon-germanium heterojunction bipolar transistor technology. He is an IBM Fellow and, in 2002, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering. Through Meyersonʹs successful scientific life path, this interview discusses state-of-the-art semiconductor technology, its future prospects, and the impact on design and test engineers.
