Cyclical unemployment and sectoral shifts: Further tests of the Lilien hypothesis for the UK

The sectoral shifts hypothesis and related implications are analysed using UK data within a consistent econometric framework, with sensitivity analyses based on the concept of extreme bounds being carried out in order to assess the robustness of the results obtained.
