A representation of acyclic preferences

In this work we present sufficient conditions under which the acyclicity of a preference relation > is equivalent to the existence of two functions u: X→[0, 1] and ρ: X×X→[0, 1] such that x>yu(x)>u(y)+ρ(x, y).
