Does bank relationship have an economic value?: The effect of main bank failure on client firms

Previous empirical studies supported the hypothesis that banks are special due to the existence of private information. In this paper, we provide further evidence by investigating the effect of the Hokkaido Takusyoku Bank’s failure on stock returns of its client firms.
