Strategy-contingent discounting in repeated PD-games

This paper introduces a concept of endogenous discounting in repeated PD-games. Agents face specific probabilities of reaching the next stage. These probabilities depend on both strategy choices and exogenous yardsticks. We find a negative correlation between yardsticks and cooperation.
