Abstract :
The crystal structure of 2-chloro-4-methyl-2-hydroxybenzophenoneC14H11O2CL has been determined by direct method and refined by full matrix least-squares refinement. The crystal is orthrombic, space group Pbca: a=8.159(0), b=l4.238(0), c=20.490(0), Z=8, Dm=1.372gcm^-3, D.calc=1.388 gcm^-3. The structure was refined to the final R-value of 0.065 for 1281 reflections with I(hkl)>3sigma [I(hkl)]. Two ring systems are planar and the diheral angle between these two rings is 111.08(47)
