Electrochemical studies on some 4-(4- sulpbonamoyl)hydrazono-3-methyl-2isoxazolin-5-ones

Electrochemical reduction of4-(4ʹ-sulphonamoyl)hydrazono-3-methyl-2-isoxazolin-5-ones has been studied over a wide pH range at dme and GC electrodes. These compounds give single, four-electron wave/peak corresponding to the reduction of hydrazono group. On the basis of polarography, cyclic voltammetry, coulometry and product identification, a reaction mechanism is proposed for the reduction of hydrazono group.
