Abstract :
This paper presents a multibody model of a snake, a model which incorporates a particular assumption about the interaction between the snake and the ground. Solutions of the associated equations of motion produce results consistent with the motion of a real snake, thus lending credibility to the claim that the postulated snake±ground interaction force law has a basis in reality
