Abstract :
Tilting-pad journal bearings with multiple ori®ces hybrid lubrication are analysed by means of a thermohydrodynamic theory. Adiabatic boundary conditions are adopted, and a bidimensional model is used to represent the ¯uid ¯ow behavior in the bearing gap. The in¯uence of operational conditions on the temperature distribution, when di€erent bore arrangements in the pads are used, is discussed and compared to the theoretical values coming from the conventional hydrodynamic case (without radial oil injection).
