Guidelines for the pathological management of mammographically detected breast lesions

In order to evaluate adequately mammographically-detected breast lesions, adherence to a strict protocol is essential. Otherwise, small lesions may be missed and difficult differential diagnosis made harder. In the handling of these lesions, good communication between the pathologist, radiologist and surgeon is essential.
