Abstract :
The Lipsitt Self-Concept Scale was completed by 802 16-yr olds, together with the neuroticism, extraversion and Lie scales of the Junior Eysenck Personality Inventory. The overall reliability of the instrument is supported among this age group. Regarding the construct validity of the instrument, the data demonstrate that Lipsittʹs implicit assumptions regarding the nature of a good self-concept favour femininity, social conformity, extraversion and emotional stability.
