Abstract :
In a recent study (Merten & Ruch, 1996), conventional and computerized presentation of two questionnaires (Eysenck Personality Questionnaire—Revised and Carroll Rating Scale for Depression) were investigated using a design with systematic variation of experimental conditions. An additional control group of another 72 healthy subjects, comparable to the groups previously studied in age, gender and education, filled out the two questionnaires in a completely computerized form. No statistically significant differences in mean item scores or scale intercorrelations were observed between the different conditions. Measures of internal consistency of the various scales did not show a clear pattern of higher coefficients for manual, computerized or mixed manual and computerized presentation of questionnaires.
