Inter- and intra-individual differences in personality in two German samples of high and low intelligence

The present study examined the differentiation of personality by intelligence hypothesis (Brand, Egan, & Deary, 1994) in two samples: 219 employed adults and 121 adolescent students. Participants completed a standardized intelligence test and self-report personality scales. The results demonstrated some support for the differentiation of personality hypothesis for the adult sample but not for the student sample when high and low intelligence groups were compared.
