Abstract :
A highly accurate, rapid and simple method is proposed for the mineralization of samples of different types of milk prior to Mg determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Determination was carried out after rapid wet mineralization using HNO3-HClO4(4 : 1) mixture. The results were compared with those obtained by the official procedure AOAC 975.03, involving dry mineralization in an oven at 550°C.
