Paediatric neuroanaesthesia is a subsubspecialty where intimate knowledge of both paediatric and neuroanaesthetic theory and practice is required. Techniques employed may sometimes need to be a compromise between a theoretical ideal and the practical management of a sick infant or child both physiologically and very importantly psychologically.
