Dendritic cells under the spell of prostaglandins

In addition to their potential to modulate the maturation, interleukin-12 producing capacity and Th-cell-polarizing ability of dendritic cells, there is new direct evidence that prostaglandins (PGs) regulate chemokine receptor expression, cell migration and apoptosis of these important professional antigen-presenting cells. We discuss these new insights in relation to how PGs might influence innate and adaptive immune responses.
