Information in social systems: Implications for steering and regulation

The concept of information seems applicable to investigate the internal organization of social systems, and specifically, to give insight into the possibilities as well as the limitations of processes of ‘steering and regulation’. It can play a crucial role in linking the structure of a social system to its actual capacity to steer and regulate its internal organization. Moreover, it seems promising in the understanding and explanation of the global dynamics of these social processes.
