Abstract :
Using the method of principal factors with varimax and promax rotations, the 14 subtests of the TOMAL were subjected to a factor analysis using correlation matrices derived from the standardization sample. A 4-factor solution was chosen as the overall best solution when mathematical and neuropsychological variables were considered jointly. These factors (Complex Memory, Sequential Memory, Backwards Memory, and Spatial Memory) were used to develop unit-weighted factor indexes based on responses of the original standardization sample. Normative tables, reliability data, and factor structures are reported for clinical use.
