Abstract
The connection between the equations of classical hydrodynamics describing the flow of a liquid and the quantum-mechanical Schrödinger equation is discussed. A non-linear form of the latter is derived. The non-linearity of the Schrödinger equation is approximated by a phenomenological potential which is used to compute the differential cross-section (dσ/dΩ) for the elastic scaterring of 16O on 28Si.
