Abstract :
A new Monte-Carlo transport system, GEPTS, is used to compute electron dose distributions. The main features of GEPTS are briefly reviewed and some of its experimental benchmarks are presented. The dose distributions are computed for monoenergetic (50 keV-20 MeV) electrons from isotropic point sources in unbounded media. In addition to water, higher atomic number materials are considered: Al, Fe and Pb. The well known EGS4-PRESTA system is run to provide a comparison with GEPTS. The GEPTS distributions are listed in tables. The absorbed fractions are compared vs materials and a transformation rule, between distribution in two different materials, is investigated. Finally, obtaining β-emitter dose distribution from monoenergetic distributions is tackled.
