Abstract :
A microcomputer-controlled, automated module for the synthesis of 14(R,S)-[18F]fluoro-6-thia-heptadecanoic ([18F]FTHA) is described. The radiochemical yield is in the range of 10–15% (corrected for decay) with a specific activity of more than 270 GBq/μmol (10.000 Ci/mmol). Batches of [18F]FTHA up to 740 MBq (20 mCi) were prepared from 11 GBq (300 mCi) [18F]fluoride within 2 h.
