Selection of single peaks in semiconductor detector γ-spectra

A method for automatic computer selection of single peaks in semiconductor detector γ-spectra is presented. The ratio of the full width at half maximum (FWHM) to the full width at tenth maximum (FWTM) is used as the primary criterion. Then, parameters of the function FWHM vs γ-ray energy for all selected peaks are computed. This function is used for secondary verification of correctness of the first choice. The proposed method is tested on an artificially constructed spectrum.
