Determination of selenium in biological materials by neutron activation analysis

Radiochemical neutron activation analysis for the determination of Se in biological samples is described. Post-irradiation chemical separation permits the good separation efficiency of elemental selenium (95±3%) immediately after thermal neutron activation. Biological materials were decomposed by wet combustion and then elemental selenium was collected after adding cysteine to the resulting solution.
