Environmental terrestrial gamma radiation dose and its relationship with soil type and underlying geological formations in Pontian District, Malaysia

An environmental terrestrial gamma radiation dose survey has been conducted, covering the Pontian district of Peninsular Malaysia. Results have allowed construction of a terrestrial gamma-ray isodose contour map of Pontian. Relationships between the gamma radiation dose levels measured at various locations and the soil type and underlying geology are discussed.
