Photophysical and photochemical properties of some triazine¯stilbene fluorescent brighteners

The study presents the photophysical and photochemical characteristics in aqueous solution of some triazine¯stilbene fluorescent brighteners containing 2hydroxyethylamino groups and their trans¯cis isomers in equilibrium. It has been established that the type of substituent in the triazine ring does not affect significantly the absorption¯fluorescence assignments or the relative distribution of the trans- and cis-isomers.
