Abstract :
Magnetic and calorimetric properties of Ln3RuO7 (Ln=Pr, Gd) have been investigated. Magnetic susceptibility and specific heat measurements indicate that both Pr3RuO7 and Gd3RuO7 compounds show magnetic transitions at 55 K and 15 K, respectively. In addition, a clear structural phase transition has been found at 382 K for Gd3RuO7 from the specific heat measurements. From the temperature dependence of the magnetic specific heat, the magnetic entropy change is estimated and the magnetic ground states of each ion are determined.
