Abstract :
High resolution synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction and electron diffraction studies have been conducted on a Nd3(Fe,Ti)29-type phase of composition Y3(Fe0.933V0.067)29. The electron diffraction confirmed that twinning of the monoclinic phase produces a pseudohexagonal symmetry as we previously observed by X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements. The synchrotron study provided new information on different coherent lengths in two studied directions, presumably caused by anisotropic disorder in substitution of the Y atoms by Fe-Fe dumbbells.
