Facelifting : an initial eight year experience

A retrospective analysis of facelifting experience during the authorʹs initial 8 years of consultant practice is presented. 137 procedures are reviewed and the surgical technique described. 70 % were SMAS-platysma lifts, 24% skin only lifts and 6 % subperiosteal (mask) lifts. Particular attention was paid to complications, most common of which was haematoma requiring surgical evacuation in 3.6 % of patients.
