Coverage of an ischial pressure ulcer with an interpolated contralateral posterior thigh fasciocutaneous flap

The ipsilateral posterior thigh flap has become one of the workhorses for the closure of ischial pressureulcers. We treated a 40-year-old paraplegic patient with a right ischial pressure ulcer, in whom all ipsilateral flap options had been expended or were precluded by scars. A contralateral left posterior thigh fasciocutaneous flap interpolated subcutaneously across the midline provided successful coverage.
