Is a distal jejunojejunal pouch nutritionally ideal in total gastrectomy?

The question arises whether it is important to construct a gastric replacement reservoir, after a total gastrectomy. Creating a noncomplicated and easily constructed capacious antiperistaltic distal jejunojejunal pouch at the Roux-en-Y site should further improve nutritional statisfaction and weight gain, particularly in patients with gastric cancer.
