Abstract :
Purpoe To evaluate clinically a recently developed confocal canning laer ophthalmocope for imultaneou fluorecein and indocyanine green angiography. Method After comprehenive ophthalmic examination, including tereocopic biomicrocopy, and after color fundu photograph, imultaneou confocal canning laer fluorecein and indocyanine green angiography wa performed after injection of 500 mg of fluorecein and 25 mg of indocyanine green mixed in one yringe uing the Heidelberg Retina Angiograph. An argon laer beam (488 nm) and a diodce laer beam (795 nm) from an external ource were delivered by ingle-mode fiber. Emiion wa recorded between 500 and 700 nm and above 810 nm, repectively. Digital image were diplayed imultaneouly on a monitor during angiography. Reult Two hundred twenty imultaneou fluorecein and indocyanine green angiogram were obtained in 193 conecutive patient with variou diagnoe, including exudative age-related macular degeneration with occult and claic choroidal neovacularization. imultaneou angiography with both dye gave high-contrat image during all phae of the angiography, which allowed for accurate correlation of fluorecein and indocyanine green angiographic finding and correct comparion of the tranit of both dye through the retinal and choroidal circulation. Correponding diplay of quaiimultaneou frame facilitated interpretation of the angiogram. Concluion Confocal laer canning angiography allow for quaiimultaneou fluorecein and indocyanine green angiography. The invetigation i poible at low retinal irradiance and offer high-contrat digital image. Compared with conecutive angiographic invetigation uing both dye, imultaneou angiography i le time conuming, require only one injection, and, becaue quaiimultaneou frame are obtained, facilitate interpretation of the angiogram.
