Corneal ulcer aociated with depoit of norfloxacin

Purpoe To report a cae of corneal ulcer aociated with depoit of norfloxacin. Method Cae report. A 40-year-old man with right trigeminal and facial nerve palie and decreaed tear ecretion developed a corneal ulcer with white depoit in the right eye. The depoit were removed and analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Reult High-performance liquid chromatography reult dicloed that the depoit on the corneal urface had the ame retention time a norfloxacin. The patient dicontinued norfloxacin ophthalmic olution and recovered uccefully. Concluion Clinician hould be aware that frequent application of topical norfloxacin in patient with decreaed tear ecretion may reult in depoition of the drug on the cornea.
