Tick infetation of the eyelid

Purpoe To report the rare occurrence of tick infetation of the eyelid margin. Method A 58-year-old woman wa initially examined with a mall yellow leion of the left upper eyelid margin that appeared after he felt a ting near her eye. Cloe examination dicloed an inect body attached to the eyelid margin. En bloc exciion of the inect with part of the eyelid wa performed. Reult Gro examination of the pecimen identified the organim a the nymph tage of a bloated tick of the genu Hyalomma but of an uncertain pecie. Concluion Tick (Hyalomma) can become embedded in the meibomian gland orifice and manifet a a ma at the eyelid margin.
