Digoxin viual toxicity with therapeutic blood level of digoxin

Purpoe To report two cae of digoxin-related viual diturbance aociated with therapeutic blood level of digoxin. Method Cae report. One patient reported himmering light in the field of viion of both eye; the econd patient had a corrected viual acuity of BE, 20/40 and generalized viual field depreion in both eye. Both patient experienced thee ymptom while receiving digoxin. Reult Both patient had digoxin blood level in the therapeutic range (1.7 and 1.0 ng/ml, repectively). Therapeutic level are 0.5 to 2.0 ng/ml. After dicontinuing digoxin, the firt patient noted that the himmering light ymptom reolved, and the econd patient had improved viual acuity and viual field. Concluion Digoxin-related viual toxicity may be aociated with therapeutic blood level of digoxin. Recognition of thi entity may avoid unneceary teting and frutration.
