Acanthamoeba Keratiti With ymbioi of Hartmannella Ameba

Purpoe: To report a cae of evere amebic keratiti in which both Hartmannella and Acanthamoeba were iolated imultaneouly from the ame leion. Method: Cae report. The deep corneal leion wa craped for cytopathology and iolation of the pathogen. We teted the in vitro enitivitie of the pathogen to everal drug. Reult: Culture of the corneal craping and of the olution in the patientʹ contact len torage cae were poitive for Acanthamoeba E9 cyt and trophozoite. Hartmannella ameba coexited with Acanthamoeba in the cornea. When teted in vitro, Acanthamoeba trophozoite were enitive to both miconazole nitrate and natamycin, while cyt were enitive only to natamycin. However, the patient did not repond to thee antiamebic drug. Concluion: Thi cae ugget that Acanthamoeba i not the only origin of amebic keratiti. Hartmannella may alo caue evere drug-reitant keratiti.
