Abstract :
Purpoe: To evaluate the normal light enitivity value for fundu perimetry and their hort time fluctuation (reliability) in normal volunteer of different age. After the development of full-threhold tatic fundu perimetry, age-corrected enitivity value for normal ubject are required to interpret reult and to compare them with conventional computerized perimetry. Method: Full-threhold fundu perimetry of the central field (33 × 21 degree) by mean of the canning laer ophthalmocope wa performed on 152 eye of 99 healthy peron aged 16 to 77 year with normal viion and no eye dieae. Fixation wa imultaneouly documented. Light enitivity value were evaluated according to each ubject’ age and tet point location. Reult: Linear regreion analyi dicloed a ignificant (P < .0001) decreae of the mean enitivity of 0.275 dB per decade of increaing age, tarting with 16.6 dB at age 10 year. tandard deviation around the center of fixation wa 0.287 degree in the firt decade, and it increaed by 2.82 minute of arc per decade (P < .0001). Variation in triple examination of ubject did not differ from hort time fluctuation. Concluion: Viual field examined with fundu perimetry how reliable meaurement in a range comparable to conventional computerized perimetry. There i a ignificant correlation between increae of age and decreae of light enitivity in fundu perimetry. Viual field obtained with fundu perimetry eem to correlate well with known data from computerized tatic threhold perimetry. It hould be recognized that even in normal ubject, the tability of fixation decreae with increaing age.
