Intraocular ma imulating a retained foreign body

Purpoe: To preent an unuual cae of a preretinal ma that imulated a retained metallic foreign body. Method: Cae report. Reult: A 30–year–old man preented with unilateral iridocycliti and an ipilateral preretinal ma with ultraonographic and computed tomographic characteritic of a metallic foreign body. Hitologic examination of the ma dicloed a central concentration of iron-containing hemoglobin breakdown product urrounded by a cocoon of fibrou tiue. Concluion: Blood breakdown product urrounded by a fibrou capule can preent with the characteritic of an intraocular metallic foreign body.
