Abstract :
PURPOE: To decribe the ue of fluorecein angiography and indocyanine green angiography in highlighting traumatic choroidopathy.
METHOD: In a propective tudy, 21 patient (21 eye) who preented with traumatic retinal opacity ophthalmocopically underwent fluorecein angiography and indocyanine green angiography. With indocyanine green angiography, the ubtraction method wa ued for detailed examination.
REULT: In 11 of 21 eye, fluorecein angiography howed no abnormalitie. On indocyanine green angiography, delayed filling in the choroid wa found locally in nine of thee 11 eye. Delayed filling of the choroidal vein wa clearly viualized by the ubtraction method. In ix eye, intrachoroidal indocyanine green leakage around the choroidal veel, including vortex vein, wa found. In the remaining 10 of the 21 eye, fluorecein angiography howed fluorecein leakage or a alt-and-pepper appearance in the region of retinal opacity. On indocyanine green angiography, a triangular-haped area of delayed filling of the choroidal arterie wa oberved in four eye. Delayed filling of the choroidal vein wa viualized in all 10 eye, intrachoroidal indocyanine green leakage wa found in eight, and dilation and/or narrowing of the choroidal vein and change in choroidal vaculature were viualized in five eye. Furthermore, in region with fluorecein leakage, indocyanine green leakage or hypofluorecence wa oberved, uggeting damage to the choriocapillari.
CONCLUION: Indocyanine green angiography allow the analyi of variou degree of choroidal vacular damage. Becaue the choroidal circulation nourihe the outer retinal layer, traumatic choroidopathy may play a role in the prognoi for viual recovery in eye affected by contuion retinal opacitie.
