Corneal topography in aymptomatic family member of a patient with pellucid marginal degeneration

PURPOE: To report corneal topographic pattern in aymptomatic family member of a patient with pellucid marginal degeneration. METHOD: Computer-aited corneal topography wa ued to tudy the cornea of five family member of a patient with pellucid marginal degeneration. REULT: In all five aymptomatic family member, corneal biomicrocopy wa normal. Corneal topography, however, howed variou abnormalitie in different member of thi family, particularly a topographic pattern uggeting keratoconu in one family member and a topographic pattern uggeting pellucid marginal degeneration in another family member. CONCLUION: Thi tudy reinforce the hypothei that corneal ectatic diorder may repreent different manifetation of a clinical pectrum.
