Abstract :
PURPOE: To decribe a technique for uturing radioactive plaque poitioned poteriorly and adjacent to the optic nerve.
METHOD: Poterior and juxtapapillary notched radioactive iodine-125 plaque were utured uing four 5/0 nylon uture. Two uture were placed in the clera at the anterior border of the plaque poition and paed through the eyelet at the anterior edge of the plaque. Two uture were attached to the poterior eyelet and brought to either ide of the optic nerve, under the rectu mucle, to be utured to clera anterior to the inertion of the recti mucle. The poition of the plaque wa documented intraoperatively uing terile B-can ultraonography.
REULT: Plaque poitioned and utured uing thi technique were found by ultraonography to be tight up againt the clera and optic nerve.
