Fingertip dermatiti in an ophthalmologit caued by proparacaine

PURPOE: To report the late diagnoi of allergic repone to proparacaine hydrochloride in an ophthalmologit. METHOD: Cae report. In a 49-year-old practicing ophthalmologit, the hitory, clinical finding of fingertip dermatiti, kin pathology, and kin patch teting are decribed. REULT: Proparacaine, a the initiating agent, took almot 3 year to identify becaue of the unuual pattern of allergy. We explored numerou treatment option before identifying and removing the offending agent. CONCLUION: Ophthalmologit may be expoed to proparacaine on a daily bai. Thi unique report heighten the awarene of thi rare work-related complication.
