Excluion of candidate genetic loci for Duane retraction yndrome

PURPOE: To report preliminary linkage analyi of a large Hipanic family howing autoomal dominant inheritance for Duane retraction yndrome. METHOD: Microatellite analyi wa ued to examine genomic DNA iolated from member of a large family with autoomal dominant Duane retraction yndrome for linkage to candidate loci for Duane retraction yndrome. Chromoome 4, 8, and 22 were choen for tudy becaue previou report had documented karyotypic abnormalitie in unrelated patient with Duane retraction yndrome. REULT: No lod core over 0.5 were found for marker on chromoome 4, 8, or 22. Thi analyi exclude thee candidate ite. CONCLUION: tudie do not upport linkage between Duane retraction yndrome in thi family and chromoome 4, 8, and 22. Duane retraction yndrome may reult from mutation in a heterogeneou group of gene.
