Acanthamoeba keratiti with live iolate treated with cryourgery and fluconazole

PURPOE: To report live, active trophozoite in an eye with Acanthamoeba keratiti that reembled Acanthamoeba polyphagia in the anterior chamber fluid obtained by trancorneal tap. METHOD: After prediagnotic therapy had failed, we performed cryourgery to break the corneal cell wall and treated the patient with oral fluconazole. REULT: The condition reolved after 8 week of oral fluconazole therapy. Reidual leukoma wa treated by corneal graft. CONCLUION: Live, motile Acanthamoeba can be iolated from an anterior chamber tap; combination therapy with oral fluconazole after corneal cryourgery may be effective.
